Begin 5 minutes......
I keep hearing this word.
Bare. To me it means to lay open,
to expose something, to get to see inside.
Sometimes I just want to bare it all on the inside, the pain, the passion,
the grief, the excitement. But if all
that emotion overwhelms me, what will it do to others?
Sometimes I feel like Elijah who has just seen the fire
fall, and later is like, "Lord, just let me die."(1 Kings 19:1-12) Other times I feel close to God like David,
and in the next breath am uttering his same words, "Why are you downcast
oh my soul?" (Psalm 42:5) I also feel like Peter
a lot who was physically with the Lord for 3 years, and in the garden, cut the
soldier's ear off, anger blazing within. (John 18:10) But in the next moment, I am running on the beach, toward the Lord, and
when He asks me, "Do you love me?", my heart melts and my reply is
"Yes Lord!"(John 21:15-17)
As a believer, my faith is supposed to be laid bare, but
what about the rest? Is it to remain
hidden? Can we as people of faith not handle it all? I think not.
When we experience other's emotions laid bare, it makes us
uncomfortable, or like we/they are doing something wrong. What if, just what if, we looked up to God,
the maker of our souls in these times of bareness, for comfort, peace, and
direction as a small child would to a Father?
He is able to handle the bare.
End of 5 minutes.
Great post! I love your take on Bare. Its hard for me to get my emotions out, I really admire your ability to summarize your feelings so well!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel! I have a hard time keeping my emotions in. I tend to be very passionate and it comes out in a myriad of ways, love, anger, sadness. I want to learn more how to view and reflect on those emotions in a Godly way.
DeleteStopping by from Five Minute Friday. Interesting take on the word Bare - God is able to handle the bare even when we are made uncomfortable by it. Great post!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I really want to learn how to take my emotions to Him, but also at the same time channel those bare feelings in a way that is productive and brings about postive change.
DeleteA gift for you....truth.
ReplyDeleteOur heavenly Father will NOT put any child of his into a hell fire no matter what their sins. Sin doesn't scare God! He created it Isa 45:7 to teach us all the knowledge of good and evil Gen 3:22 for our eternal placement in his coming kingdom. Throwing a child of his into a hell fire has never entered the heart or mind of God to ever do such a thing Jer7:31, Jer 19:5. Anyone preaching a hell fire for any child of God has been deceived into teaching lies. The whole world has been believing in a god of hate murder and revenge (The devil Rev 12:9). The true word of God John 1:1 is now delivered Rev 12:5 here http://thegoodtale.blogspot.com/
God chose a woman Rev 12 to be the prophet like unto Moses Num 12:3 and Elijah Matt 17:3, Acts 3:21-23, Luke 1:17. Those professing themselves to be Christians would be wise to hear all Acts 3:23 BEFORE making any judgment. The proof of what I tell you is in the hearing.
The true Gospel is now delivered to you from the wilderness Rev 12:6 as a witness Matt 24:14. Prove ALL things 1 Thes 5:21. Satan has deceived the whole world Rev 12:9 until now. Turn your heart to the children of God for a better placement in God's world Rev 21, Ezek 37:26.
